Standing alone
This last week, Logan has been able to stand by himself longer and longer. Previously if he finds himself standing with no support, he becomes very nervous and slowly reaches down to the floor until he's sitting again. Today I saw him stand and keep his balance over a minute, even while Valentina sprayed him with water from the garden hose. How exciting!
It's still so funny seeing him stare at people unblinkingly. He takes his time assessing his surroundings until he gets comfortable. Once he thinks you're okay, he gives the up-nod and a grunt in your direction. Individuals who try to get a reaction out of him upon first meeting are usually sorely disappointed. Paul took him to the playground area, and it took Logan about 30 minutes of staring at the children and the park before he showed his true personality. Then, he was off trying to crawl everywhere, approach the kids, eat the woodchips that were on the ground, etc.
By the end of that trip he was sweaty and dirty. Of course he fell into a deep sleep on the ride home so I put him in his crib and tried to give him a wet towel cleanup. What a day!
He's still clapping, shaking his head, and babbling a lot. There haven't been any more teeth yet, but he eats solid food like he has a mouthful of pearly whites. One morning I saw him eating a smoked chicken breast. He sure loves to eat. He's definitely my son. The only thing that has started to become a problem is his continuous kicking and moving when he's asleep. He's so long now that if he does that in the crib, it wakes him up immediately since he butts his head and body right into the rails. If we put him in our bed, he ends up kicking our ribs and our heads at some point in the night. I don't understand how he always ends up sideways. Well, he's still absolutely loveable and perfect. Paul and I are truly enjoying being parents.
